Apply For Housing

The Housing Authority of Abbeville maintains a waiting list for families, the elderly, and people with disabilities at our main office, located at 508 Haigler Street in Abbeville, South Carolina, 29620.

Applicants can come by and complete a preliminary in person or request to have an application mailed, emailed, or faxed to them. 

Once the application has been completed and all of the necessary documentation has been turned in, applicants are placed on our waiting list.

Once an apartment becomes available, the Housing Authority then begins the screening process (Background Check, Previous Tenant Check, etc.), and also updated documentation may be requested.

Upon approval, the applicant is then selected based upon the unit type, size, preference, and date of the application.

If a preference is warranted, it will be determined before you move in and applied at that time.
